Lab Tests
Test Network
A basic test network has been setup at the Telebit location. The network
mimics the proposed production network and it is possible to integrate
the test routers into the test setup as both backbone routers and as routes
providing NRNs access to the backbone. The flexible test setup allows both
backbone issues, such as IBGP and internal routing, as well as NRN connectivity
to be examined. The current setup is depicted below.

So far, all the routers in the test network are TBC2000/1
routers.
Performance
Simple throughput tests will be performed for each of the routers using
Telebit's internal traffic generator.
Compliance
Each router will be tested for compliance with the latest specifications
using the TAHI testing tool. The tool
currently supports tests of compliance with
-
Core IPv6
-
ICMPv6
-
Neighbor Discovery
Using the Merit Multi-Threaded Routing
Toolkit and Zebra, the routing
protocols will be tested.
Interoperability
These tests will be performed in the test setup that is as close to the
setup of the expected production network as possible, and will focus on
the issues that needs to be resolved before NRNs are able to peer with
the backbone. Possible problems could be Interoperability between routing
protocol, IPv6 over ATM, IPv6 over other media (LAN) and IP6-in-IP4 tunnel
implementations.
