
Information on QTPv6 core router
The GTPv6 network has a single core router, and thus a star topology. The router was supplied by Ericsson Telebit.
The GTPv6 core router consists of a TBC2000/3 with a TBC118 controller and
a TBC120 controller. The router is also equipped with an ATM switch backplane.
The TBC118 provides a 155 Mbps ATM multimode port. The TBC120 controller
offers four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN ports and also one 155 Mbps ATM multimode
port.
The TBC118 is connected to the ATM switch, instead of the TBC120, to
exclude the possible interoperability problems between the Ericsson Telebit
router and the Ascend switch. The PVC's are switched between the TBC118
and the more powerful TBC120 via the ATM switch backplane. Therefor IP
routing is handled by the TBC120.
One LAN interface, on the TBC103, is use for the backbone LAN.
